TIPS FOR THE FINAL EXAMINATION

  • 1. As you are allowed to enter the examination hall 30 minutes before the examination, try to reach the examination centre before time.
  • 2. Carefully read all the instructions written on the question paper and answer booklet.Also listen to the oral instructions given by your supervisor.
  • 3. Use black or blue ink pens only for writing answers.
  • 4. Start each section on a new page.
  • 5. Marks are given for every correct step of your answer.
  • 6. All the important points in the answers and scientific names in Biology should be underlined.
  • 7. For drawing diagrams in Physics, Chemistry and Biology:
    • • Draw simple line diagrams with 2B pencils.
    • • Do not use coloured pens/pencils.
    • • Shading is not necessary.
    • • Label all the parts.
  • 8. For numerical problems in Physics and Chemistry:
    • • Write the formula.
    • • Before substituting the values, check their units and convert them to standard metric/SI units, if necessary.
    • • Only logarithmic tables provided at the examination hall must be used.
    • • Show logarithmic calculations on the right hand side of the respective answer.
    • • Write the units, if any, in the final answer.
  • 9. In Chemistry, write the chemical equations along with the condition and the names of the compounds in the reaction.
  • 10. In the English Activity Sheet :
    • • Do not waste time reading the whole paper at the start.
    • • There will be no options in Sections I, II and IV. Only Section III will have options.
    • • For comprehension activities, glance through the activities first and then read the extract. This would make it easier and quicker for you to find the answers.
    • • The answers should not be merely a reproduction from the extract.
    • • Write the answers to all the questions in complete sentences.
    • • Avoid writing multiple answers to one Question/Activity.
    • • Webs/Figures/Charts/Tables should be drawn as instructed in the activity sheet.
